The moment we heard the dam gates were open, we stocked up on food, water, petrol and cash, rolled up the carpets and placed our belongings such as the electrical items on a higher ground, and parked our cars elsewhere. We knew it was just a matter of time. The lower part of the house did get flooded by several inches. Our area is about 60m above sea level, so it isn't a low–lying area.

It's the monsoon now, so it's still raining. Thanks, it's over now, but it was forecasted that there might be a second wave of floods early next month.SkyJuicehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18032097471777142861noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17144235.post-21227505869593049302010-11-24T01:01:38.287+08:002010-11-24T01:01:38.287+08:00Hello Skyjuice,

I wonder what you did for food.Did the lower part of the house get flooded? It looks like you are living in a low lying area.

It is raining in Kochi but not the way you have described. Now it rains mostly in the night and the day is normally bright.

I am sorry to read about this.I hope everything is over now.

Best wishes,
JosephJoseph Pulikotilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07074346261093541776noreply@blogger.com
