Knocked Up (2007)

Alison Scott (Katherine Heigl) and Ben Stone (Seth Rogan)

Ben Stone and Pete (Paul Rudd)

Alison Scott is an up
andcoming entertainment journalist whose life is on the fast track after getting a promotion at work, but it gets derailed after when a drunken onenight stand with slacker Ben Stone results in an unwanted pregnancy.

One of the most boring chick flicks I've ever seen. Katherine Heigl is a bad choice.

Public Enemies (2009)

Christian Bale as Special Agent Melvin Purvis

John Dillinger, played by the dashing Johnny Depp

John Dillinger's love interest, Billie Frechette (Marion Cotillard)

The FBI agents who chase after the mob

J. Edgar Hoover (Billy Crudup)

Pictures: www.rottentomatoes.com

Based on a true story, the FBI try to take down notorious American gangsters, John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson and Pretty Boy Floyd during a booming crime wave in the 1930s.

The props and costumes are pretty impressive, but the film lacks compelling drama.

Harry Potter & The Half–Blood Prince (2009)

Evanna Lynch reprises her role as the eccentric Luna Lovegood

Bellatrix Lestrange (Helena BonhamCarter) ready to make the Unbreakable Vow for Professor Severus Snape (Alan Rickman) and Narcissa Malfoy (Helen McCrory)

Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) and her fellow classmates in Professor Horace Slughorn's (Jim Broadbent) Potions class

Lavender Brown (Jessie Cave) saying hello to Ronald Weasley (Rupert Grint) while the other Gryffindors look on

Professor Dumbledore (Sir Michael Gambon) and Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) talking over the illuminated Pensieve

The greatest wizard of alltime and Hogwarts' Headmaster, Professor Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, played by Sir Michael Gambon.

The young Tom Marvolo Riddle or Lord Voldemort (Hero FiennesTiffin)

Draco Malfoy (Thomas Felton)

As Harry Potter begins his sixth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, he discovers an old book marked mysteriously as 'This book is the property of the Half
Blood Prince', and begins to learn more about Lord Voldemort's dark past. Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the muggle and wizarding world. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within Hogwarts, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching.

As a big Harry Potter fan (of the books, not films), this is a letdown. Those who didn't read the book would most likely get confused or probably lost. Some scenes are unnecessary, yet more crucial scenes were left out. Where's the funeral? Surely there should be a tribute as he's one of the major characters after all. The Inferi aren't frightening at all.

I look forward to watching the Battle of Hogwarts in the final instalment. If there's one scene that I'd like to see come to life, that'd be the legendary duel between Professor Albus Dumbledore and Gellert Grindelwald. Now, that would be something. Wouldn't you say so, fellow Potterheads?

27 Dresses (2008)

The 27 dresses

Jane (Katherine Heigl)

Kevin (James Marsden)

Tess (Malin Akerman) and George (Edward Burns)

After serving as a bridesmaid 27 times, Jane wrestles with the idea of standing by her sister's side as her sibling marries the man she's secretly in love with.

Katherine Heigl seems like she tries too hard, a tad OTT at times. James Marsden is charming.

Rating: 2/5.
