The afternoon sky of 2 August 2009It rains almost daily again lately, alternating with bright, sunny days. Not that I am complaining. I do like rainy days as much as I appreciate sunny days. Life is like the weather, don't you think? There are sunny days, rainy days, good days and not–so–good days, but no matter, as Professor Albus Dumbledore said, "Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if only one remembers to turn on the light."

I like the smell and listening to the sound of heavy rain. When we are here, we are yet to get the heavy rain. they said rain here will not make us sick, so we can see people, kids just walking in the rain without cover. My kids are so happy to walk in the rain, as back home,they will never had this opportunity! :-)
I'd think that NZ has cleaner air. That's why it's okay to walk in the rain. Do make the most of your time there. A year isn't that long. :-)

Delighted to see you have changed the header photo in keeping with the lovely clouds. I'm looking around for a clear sky but we have clouds here too. I think both our countries get rain almost at the same time.
Although rains dampen my spirits I still go out whenever there is a need. An umbrella becomes a constant companion in these days. Ladies here carry umbrellas whether is rains or shines. A small folding umbrella is always there in their handbag.
You have posted some very good quotes. Excellent selection. I enjoyed reading your inspirational quotes.

I was bored looking at the previous header, so I changed it to one of my cloud photos. It's nice to look at something simple for a change. :-)
It's still raining today. I keep an umbrella in the car and use it during heavy rain. I'd use a cap or shawl to cover my head when it drizzles. Both are useful to shield me from the hot sun too.
