Rainy Days

The inundated main balcony

The neighbourhood

The flooded backyard garden

It has been raining heavily for several days consecutively. The rain started a day before Ramadhan. Not that I'm complaining. It's easier to fast on cooler days.

As always, there are Ramadhan Bazaars selling mostly food everywhere in the country now. I've only been to one on the first day, but didn't find anything I wanted. Didn't feel like going to my favourite bazaar yet this year. I dislike crowded places, more so with the school holidays and spreading of Influenza A (H1N1) virus now. If I had to run errands, I'd go early in the morning when it's much less crowded as I've always done all these years. For Ramadhan Bazaar posts in Kuala Lumpur, see Boo's Masak
masak. I'm a regular reader of Boo's blog. She does good annual Ramadhan Bazaar posts, which are pleasant to read.

My sister has been cooking regularly these days, and I've been to the kitchen more often than I used to. It's all due to Ramadhan. Will upload the posts soon.

Hi SkyJuice:)

I'm aware this is a tough month for you. Added to this, the rain is making life difficult.

I can see some sloping roofs in your neighborhood. Are they houses or small scale industries. Perhaps houses there have sloping roofs.

What a pity there is so much water in the balcony and around the house. You have a lovely balcony. A nice place to sit and have a cup of tea or read a book or just to sit and dream or even doze.

Most of the restaurants owned by Muslims here are closed during the day and they open only after 7pm or so. Some big restaurants doing big business remain closed for all the 40 days. Some times I wonder they are prepared to lose so much business during this period.

In places like Malapuram, where majority of the Muslims live, it is difficult to get even a glass of water. Very tough.

The swine flu has taken many lives in India also. My second son has come home for the weekend and he has slight fever. We gave him crocin tablet and the fever subsided. Actually, we were planning to take him to the hospital for a check up. I hope nothing is wrong. He appears to be ok. He is planning to go back to work tomorrow morning.

Wish you a holy Ramadhan:)
Joseph

Thank you, Joseph.

I love Ramadhan and don't see it as a tough month for me. I don't mind the rain too.

Those are houses. Yes, houses with sloping roofs are common here. What about Kochi?

I hope your son has recovered and he's back to work.

Hi SkyJuice:)

We have some houses with sloping roofs but mostly terraced buildings.

My son is ok and he has gone back to work.

Have a good day:)
