Homemade Ramadhan Feast

Buah melaka (pandanflavoured round glutinous balls with palm sugar square filling and topped with grated coconut meat), a traditional sweetmeat.

Kuih lopes (pandanflavoured glutinous cakes topped with grated coconut and served with palm sugar syrup), another traditional sweetmeat.

Squid tempura

Cucur udang (prawn fritters). The use of tiny shrimps made the fritters turn reddish brown instead of the normal brownish colour.

Telur bungkus (minced beef, chicken, chopped onions, chillies and vegetables wrapped in eggs). Unlike omelette, making telur bungkus is a bit tricky as one needs the skill to wrap the beaten eggs around the fried filling.

Udang masak kunyit (prawns in turmeric sauce)

Fried chicken's liver and gizzards

Ayam masak sambal (fried chicken and potato sambal)

Kailan ikan masin (fried kailan and salted fish)

Bawal masak masam manis (sweet and sour pomfret)

Succulent grilled terubuk on a banana leaf

These were homemade fare made for iftar over a span of a few days.
